PSI Materials Repository moving to Arizona
This month, the PSI Material Repository is moving its operations from Harvard Medical School to the Virginia G. Piper Center for Personalized Diagnostics at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, Arizona. You can read the news article from ASU here. Institutions with material transfer agreements have already been contacted with new technology transfer agreements, and should expect minimal interruption because plasmids will continue to be distributed from the Harvard repository during the transition. For more information about the move or other materials questions, please contact the PSI Material Repository's scientific liaison, Catherine Cormier
Structural Genomics Knowledgebase portal spotlight: The PSI Technology Portal
URL: http://technology.lbl.gov/portal/home
The PSI centers have developed cutting edge technologies for all stages of the structure determination pipeline. These technologies and methods are an important resource for the broader community for use in other research. At the PSI Technology Portal, users can search the database either by text or by using a clickable high-throughput pipeline diagram to discover these innovative techniques. It provides access to summaries of key PSI technologies with links to the responsible PSI center or related publication, and the findings can be exported to a pdf for later use. Tech reports can also be searched directly from the Structural Genomics Knowledgebase homepage. Other features include written “technology guides”, a list of “useful servers” for primer design, structure analysis, and more, and a YouTube channel for videos of PSI technologies in action (www.youtube.com/user/sgkbtech). A forum is also available soon to discuss new methods with peers.
